About Killerwebs

Hello. My name is Kristine Fluck and I have been an internet design and marketing professional for over 10 years. The purpose of this website is to let you learn a little about me and see some of the work that I have completed over the course of my career. If at any time you would like to discuss this work with me, feel free to contact me. I'd be happy to talk to you.

My professional history may be found on my resume [.doc format]. Here I will discuss more about me and how I got where I am today. Although I won't get into that many personal specifics here, you are always welcome to visit my family website where I keep our most current news and information about what's happening in my family.

So, you may have guessed that I have a family! I do. I have a great husband named Mike and a great little girl named Michaela. They are my life. I love them dearly. We reside in suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah and are content to live our lives in a little yellow house complete with fenced backyard, 2 dogs, a cat and several un-named fish.

I graduated college in 1996 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Organizational Communications from California State University at Stanislaus in Turlock, California. Before that I earned my Associates degree from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California and attended some classes at San Francisco State University. During my time in college I worked full time at the Disney Store (paid very little but I LOVED it!) and Longs Drug Stores. I also participated in many stage productions. I was mostly on the technical teams that provided props and stage effects but a couple times I was on stage "acting". I wouldn't say the acting bug bit me. I think the nerves were more than I could bare. But I loved behind the scenes work and would think if a career could be had in it, I would have persued life behind the lights. But judging by my resume you'll see that I didn't go for the glamour of the stage.

In 1995, I was given the opportunity to work with Prodigy - an online service much like AOL as one of their online content managers. I knew nothing about the world wide web at the time but I loved country music. And they had asked me to build them a country music website and maintain it in exchange for a nice chunk of change each month. As it was my final year in college, I jumped at the chance to work from home! It was here that I learned about web design. Although Prodigy didn't require me to know how to program HTML or create graphics, I knew that I wouldn't get very far with this website unless I was able to make it my own. So, one day I looked at the code that makes up a webpage and even though I thought it looked like heiroglyphics, I was determined to figure out what made it do what it did. It took much trial and error but soon I was mastering HTML - without the use of books, classes or someone telling me what to do. As a kid I always enjoyed artwork and so the move to graphical design was a natural one for me. What was a hobby and part time job for me turned into a career.

I have had the priviledge of working with many high end clients in the past 10 years. For 4 years I resided south of Nashville, Tennessee. There I worked with country music artists, Clint Black, Lorrie Morgan, recording artists the Moody Blues and Donna Summer. I built and maintained websites for the Nashville Chamber of Commerce and the Tennessee Association of Business. I was heavily involved in the creation of the Nashville Sports Council website and spent much time with them to promote the Tennessee Titans when they arrived in Nashville. Today, I continue to build and maintain the website for country recording artist David Lee Murphy. I also maintain the website for country recording artist, Sammy Sadler.

In 2000, the road led me to Salt Lake City where I engaged in several challenging internet projects including Careerwebsource.com, Jess Reid Real Estate in Park City, volunteering at the opening/closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics while I was newly pregnant with my daughter!

After taking some time off to enjoy my baby girl, I returned to the work force in 2003. I designed more websites for DigitaliQ magazine in Salt Lake City, Cedar Bay Design, and Pacific Wireless. I went to work full time for Pacific Wireless in 2004 where I not only maintained the website for www.pacwireless.com, but also for www.connexwireless.com and their new Q-Bridge and Flagtenna products. I also was given the responsibility of heading up the marketing and communications department where I engaged in print design, ad rotation, online marketing including search engine optimization and e-newsletters. Pacific Wireless also allowed me to branch out and emerge from my comfort zone of hiding behind the computer by having me man a multi-phone system and answer inbound tech support and sales calls. I have been able to forge close professional relationships with our distributors from around the country and also from around the world including Australia, Africa and many parts of Europe.

I am pleased with the opportunities that have been given me while at Pacific Wireless. It has allowed me to grow and has given me a plethora of experience that I don't think I could have received at most other places. I believe that this experience makes me an asset to any organization that could use a person with such a diverse set of skills. If you are interested in contacting me to discuss these skills, feel free to use the contact page and send me a note.

Thank you for stopping by my website to learn a little more about me and what I do. I look forward to hearing from you!
