Michaela is a remarkable little girl who has had to endure more in the early months of 2008 more than any child should have to go through. However, she has done so stoically and with bravery much beyond her 5 years. She is a little girl that was once the dream of two people very much in love and in want of a child. Time and circumstances prevented her birth until one late summer's day when she finally entered the world plump, pink and beautiful. She was certainly a dream come true...
Her first year was magical - just like her parents knew it would be. Precious are the memories of that time of first teeth, first steps and first words. Michaela was and is the most prayed for and wanted child, in this writer's opinion, the world has ever known. She brought immediate joy to her family and quickly became the apple of her mother's eye and the little finger that her father would be easily wrapped around. She is - in a word - PERFECT.
Michaela's loves are family, pretend-play, drawing, school and anything to do with Disneyland or Disney World. This apple surely does not fall far from the tree! She'll ride most any ride she's tall enough for at Disneyland. She'll draw most anything you put in front of her and she will play, play, play until she could barely stand on her own two feet. Michaela's world revolves around play.
She is the perfect mixture of both of her parents. From her mother, Michaela shows great love for animals, demonstrates sensitivity and loves to laugh. From her father, some may call it stubborness but Michaela knows what she wants and when she wants it; like her father, she's compassionate - she does not put up with cruelty to anyone and her sense of humor is in many ways, downright devilish. She is her father's daughter!
Michaela is in Kindergarten. She has a great capacity for learning although she freely admits that sometimes, school is boring. When asked why she thinks so, she answers it's because she sits around a lot. This is telling in so many ways. Although she loves to learn, she'd rather be doing! In the coming months, Michaela will be doing a LOT! In the spring, she'll venture to the Magic Kingdom - again. Come Memorial Day she'll be fishing with her grandfather and come mid-June she'll be bidding the beaches of Kona, Hawaii aloha for the very first time.
