About Killerwebs

Killerwebs was born in the summer of 1995 in my pajamas when I was a college senior. Hi. My name is Kris Fluck [check out my bio here]. I was offered a job as an interest group coordinator for the Prodigy Network back in 1995 simply because of my love (at the time) for country music.  Back then, I had no idea what the world wide web was and don’t even ask me about HTML!  The technology was advancing so quickly, however  and soon it became obvious that I couldn’t let a little program created by Prodigy to create my websites. Let’s face it. The site looked basic and boring and sites were starting to take on a multi-media feel. I just had to figure out how it was done. So, I dove deep into learning HTML and learning more about graphic design. By 1996, I was living in Nashville and got my first client, country music songwriter and performer – David Lee Murphy. To this day I continue to maintain his website. It’s great fun. :-)

The great thing about the web is that it’s changing. I like it when the sites I work on evolve and change. It’s not cool any more to just have a website. Your website needs to be dynamic. It needs to do something. It’s got to look good. There is a lot to be said about first impressions. First impressions are important on the web too. You have about 15 seconds to reign in your visitors or you lose them. Not cool. So if you think your site from 1995 is still relevant, then you may want to think again. Getting into the 21st century with your website means utilizing graphics that pop, multi-marketing with Twitter, Facebook and Myspace and blogging frequently so it gives your visitors a reason to come back to your site.

In 2004, Killerwebs joined forces with The Service Dimensions Group, LLC (SDG). SDG is marriage of talents which brings with it over 40 years of customer service experience in retail, human resources, communication, training, health care, web design, media and graphic design. SDG provides multi-dimensional service which forces the client to “think outside the box”.  The SDG logo was created by Killerwebs and was inspired by the many facets of talent that makes up the Service Dimensions Group. No matter how you look at the logo, you will always see something different. In much the same way, SDG is different. To define them is to put them into a box. And like their logo, there’s no staying inside that box!

kw-cylinder-iconWhen it came time to re-brand Killerwebs, the idea that what you see is not always what you get was appealing. As the design people for SDG, it was really important to compliment the SDG brand with continuity. The Killerwebs icon was born. What once was a simple little web design company in 1995, is now a full service graphic/logo/media/web design firm. In addition to these services, Killerwebs also provides desktop publishing, Powerpoint, photography, picture archiving and digital slide show services. So, like SDG, Killerwebs doesn’t fit into that proverbial box either. Think your project isn’t a fit for us? Think again.
