Killerwebs Design Launched New Site Design September 13, 2012
An Affair of the Heart, the documentary featuring the special relationship rocker Rick Springfield has with his most ardent fans heads back on the Film Festival circuit in late September with stops in Milwaukee, Boston, Minneapolis and Bend, OR. The most exciting news is the film will have an exclusive theatrical release in New York City the week of October 10-16 to coincide with the release of Springfield’s newest album “Songs for the End of the World” which hits retail outlets and online music sites, such as iTunes on October 9th. In preparation for this increased exposure, Killerwebs Design cranked out a new look to the An Affair of the Heart website in less than 24 hours. Yellow Rick Road Productions requested a simplified design with improved user interface. The front end of the site features a simple static site to make it easy for the every day user to find information about the film. Killerwebs Design also designed the “fan section” of the site which is accessible when one clicks on the Follow the Yellow Rick Road road sign. This section is a more complex database driven website featuring subscriber management, e-newsletter capabilities and frequently updated news exclusive to paying subscribers.

We Love Rick Springfield
May 18th, 2012It’s no secret that on a personal level, I LOVE Rick Springfield and have been a fan for over 30 years. My very first rock concert was a Rick Springfield concert when I was 10. It has been my privilege to work with Yellow Rick Road Productions for the past 9 months while they have finalized their movie about Rick Springfield and the relationship he has with his fans - An Affair of the Heart. I have been their website/graphics designer and have assisted with their marketing of the film as it has prepared for its debut at the Florida Film Festival and later the Nashville Film Festival and HotDocs Film Festival in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Work is now beginning on getting the film into distribution so it can have a theater release and later DVD release.

Social media is a goldmine for worldwide exposure. It’s instantaneous and best of all, it’s CHEAP. It costs nothing to have a Twitter and Facebook account. But where do you start?
Killerwebs Design Launches New Logo
April 5th, 2012My logo has never felt right. It never clicked with me and with as often as I a create things for clients, you’d think I’d be inspired. But I wasn’t. To be honest, I have never liked my logo…. that is, until now. I decided it was time to switch things up even though I had updated my logo just last year. I decided that what I had was too blah and it didn’t really say anything about me and what it is that I do. The truth of the matter is that I wear many hats – not only professionally but personally. On a personal level, I am a mom, a widow, a caregiver, a nurse and cook. On a professional level, I not only design websites but graphics, logos and communications materials, I also do some Human Resources, marketing, social media marketing and now, photography. How could one logo tell that story?
